Okrug is located on the west side of the island of Ciovo, in Croatia. It is divided into Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji, two traditional Dalmatian places. It is the center of the Dalmatian micro-region in terms of its geographical position. It has a mild Mediterranean climate, dense subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, an archipelago of small islands, bays and beaches.
