The hosts were very kind and helpful, and non-intrusive at the same time.
The location and the surroundings are exceptional as every corner of the village/medieval town gleam with history and details that at the same time excite you and bring on a sort of melancholy. It almost seems that on one corner time has stopped 150 years ago and on the next one it's flourishing.
The houses are basically on the cliff face with breathtaking view, and the experience is enhanced by the flights of swallows that nest nearby.
The accommodation is modern and very well thought through. You can see that a lot of thought and effort was put into the restoration and adaptation work.

We spent 1 week in this wonderful house as a group of 4 people (2 couples). The 2 bedrooms would fit for a family with children, too. Just to clarify this here, if you are impressed by the pictures on the website (as we were), the pictures are no exaggeration at all. Imagining that this house used to be an old ruin until only some time ago, it is truly amazing what splendid place the owners created out of it. More to it, what cannot be adequately captured by the pictures is the view from the house. The view is really breathtaking as this house sits on top of a mountain in a tiny village, overlooking the valley with an at least 180° view. Another highlight is definitely the pool, which is located in a separate building on the premise with complete privacy. This is not an ordinary pool, but a swim spa jacuzzi, perfect for relaxation. As there is no roof on that building, you can enjoy watching the stars while chilling in your jacuzzi. What finally made this trip perfect was the super nice, friendly and caring host/owner. After a very warm welcome at our arrival, he was always approachable for any questions and help we required. He even helped us with getting delicious meat from a local butcher for barbecue at the house and reminded us about St Lovre's night (night with high activity of shooting stars), which is just beautiful to watch from that place. Villa Paola is a very beautiful house located in a small historic town. It´s very well-appointed and really nicely done up. During ouor stay we especially enjoyed the fantastic view from above over green, beautiful Central-Istria and the privacy in small town of Pican.
Ivo is an awesome host! He helped us a lot with orientating and organizing in Istria, gave us helpful tips. We all the time felt very welcome and comfortable! Thank you once again Ivo, we really felt home and will definetly come again!

A beautyfull house with a great view. We had really great holidays and everything was better as expected. Pool, location, view, Pican and especially our host Ivo. Everything was great.
I cannot recommend our stay here highly enough - it was just perfect. I will not go into the details as people in other reviews already covered that in a detail. The owner was really friendly, helpful and responsive to our messages.
The little town of Pican has a great vibe where you can really live a local, non stressful life there (as it not so touristy which was a plus for us) and there are lot of places and activites if you get "bored" of the villa, which is hardly the case. There is a store nearby and also a nice little tavern in a village nearby.
We would definitely come back! October 2020.
Ich kann von unserem Aufenthalt nur Positives berichten. Von der Ausstattung über die Sauberkeit war alles perfekt. Die Unterkunft steht den schönen Bildern in nichts nach. Besonders ist auch der sehr nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter hervorzuheben. August 2021.
Wow, AMAZING!! The house is located in a small, quiet, cute village. There is not much more than a small market, so you would need your car to go to a restaurant or supermarket. The house itself is spacious, clean, modern and very nice! Also, the garden and swimming pool were great! The view is absolutely amazing, we couldn’t get enough of it and I still dream about it. Ivo and his family are the best hosts you can get. He made us feel so welcome and if we had any questions or needed help he responded quickly. Tip! We could also order fresh fish via Ivo and you should do that too, so delicious. We would / hope definitely to come back in the future.
Super Unterkunft! Kann man nur empfehlen. Die Aussicht ist Großartig. Der Whirlpool mit Gegenstromanlage ist super wenn man mal nicht ans 25min entfernte Meer fährt. Airbnb, August/September 2021

Wow! Das waren unsere ersten Worte bei dem Ausblick! Die gesamte Unterkunft ist ein Traum. Die Kinder haben das beheizte Pool in der außergewöhnlicher Lage geliebt. Alles ist sehr liebevolle gestaltet und das Haus sehr gemütlich. Was Ivo und seine Familie hier auf die Beine gestellt haben, ist absolut bemerkenswert. Gerade wenn man Bilder gesehen hat, wie das Haus früher mal ausgesehen hat. Ivo war immer zur Stelle bei Fragen, oder Problemen. Wir sind noch immer ganz "geflasht" und kommen bestimmt wieder.
