Okrug is located on the west side of the island of Ciovo, in Croatia. It is divided into Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji, two traditional Dalmatian places. It is the center of the Dalmatian micro-region in terms of its geographical position. It has a mild Mediterranean climate, dense subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, an archipelago of small islands, bays and beaches. The island of Ciovo is an ideal place for families with children, because of its quiet, clean, pebble beaches, but also for young people, eager for nightlife on the beaches with beach bars, good music and fun on the beaches. The district is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia with 2,670 hours of sunshine a year.
